The Beauty Desk Is Growing Up With Me
AURA started with makeup. I did not outgrow beauty; I outgrew the idea that beauty content has to pretend every new launch is life-changing.
I fell in love with makeup later than some people, and that is exactly why beauty became such a big part of my online life. Learning products, finishes, formulas and technique gave me a creative language I did not know I was missing. AurasMakeupBox was built around that excitement.
Years later, I still love a beautiful compact and a good launch. I am simply harder to impress. My skin is different, my priorities are different, my budget matters more, and I have enough products in my history to know the difference between something new and something genuinely useful.
That is what the Beauty Desk is for now: tested products, treatments, routines, PR discoveries and beauty through a 40+ lens. No pretending aging is a defect. No miracle language. No automatic praise because something arrived in a pretty box.
I have been lucky enough to work with and experience brands including Lancôme, Huda Beauty, Estée Lauder, Clinique, YSL Beauty, Valentino Beauty, Kayali, Medicube and Benefit. The point of bringing that history into AURA is not to make a trophy case. It is to make the edit better.
Beauty is still one of my favorite languages. I just want the conversation to be grown.
