Throne of Glass
5 stars · Celaena arrives at the glass castle, and suddenly I have Wyrdmarks, secrets and approximately 400 theories.
Reading Throne of Glass after The Assassin’s Blade changed the experience for me because I already knew what Celaena had survived before she walked into that castle.
I loved watching pieces of her return while the competition, murders, Wyrdmarks and Elena’s mysteries kept widening the story around her. Nehemia fascinated me, Dorian and Chaol had me questioning everybody, and the book kept handing me just enough information to create ten new theories.
The name Elentiya hit me particularly hard. After everything Celaena has lost, the idea of hope attached to her felt bigger than a nickname.
Five stars. This is where I realized the prequel hadn’t prepared me for the story—it had emotionally attached me to the person who would have to survive it.
