The Brave and the Fearless

4 stars · Fake engagement, a single dad, country music, an age gap and a theme park called Wild Fields. There was a lot here to have fun with.

Adriana, Brooks and Skye give The Brave and the Fearless its heart. The fake-engagement setup is fun, but I especially liked the warm community around them and the way the family dynamic keeps the romance grounded.

The country-music world and Wild Fields setting give it personality beyond the central trope. I did have moments where the pacing did not hit quite as strongly for me as the character work, which kept this from being a five-star read.

Still, it was warm, romantic and easy to root for. Four stars.
