4.5 stars · A 445-page ARC I somehow devoured in one day. That should tell you something.

The Bone Year dropped me into Ashwell Academy and gave me dark academia, supernatural intrigue and exactly the sort of atmosphere that makes ‘one more chapter’ a dangerous sentence. I read all 445 pages in a day.

The academy setting and supernatural world kept pulling me forward, and I loved the feeling that there was always something else underneath what I had just learned. It has the moody, secretive energy I want from dark academia without relying on aesthetic alone.
