5 stars · The scale explodes, the plans get more dangerous and Sarah J. Maas chooses violence against my feelings.

By Empire of Storms, the series is operating on an entirely different scale from where it began.

Kingdoms, armies, magic, bargains and relationships are all moving at once, but what kept me invested was still the emotional center: these characters have become a family built through impossible circumstances, and every strategic choice threatens something personal.

I loved the ambition of this installment. It feels like pieces that have been scattered across the series are finally being pulled onto the same board.

And that ending? Absolutely disrespectful to my peace.

Five stars. I closed the book with the very specific feeling that Sarah J. Maas had personally created a problem for me.
